Cased surveyor’s instrument, 1795, by
Goldsmith Chandlee, Winchester, Virginia signed “G.
Chandlee” and also signed “J. Robinson”, the name of
the surveyor the compass was made for. Inside the
original case is the rare original label reading
“Clocks, Mathematical Instruments & c. Made and
Watches Repaired. Goldsmith Chandlee Winchester”.
